In a shocking turn of events, the ex-husband of a woman tragically discovered dead alongside her spouse in their Ohio residence has been arrested, facing serious allegations of murder.
Spencer Tepe, aged 37, and Monique Tepe, age 39, were found deceased in their Columbus home on December 30, with police reports indicating that both suffered from apparent gunshot wounds. This grim discovery has left the community reeling.
The individual accused in this case, Michael David McKee, 39, hails from Chicago, Illinois. He was taken into custody on Saturday and is now facing two counts of murder in relation to the deaths of Spencer and Monique Tepe. Notably, McKee was previously married to Monique for about two years before their divorce in 2017, and they did not have any children together.
Authorities were alerted to the situation when worried friends and colleagues reached out to the police, expressing concern over Spencer Tepe's absence from work and Monique's lack of response to phone calls. One alarming 911 call detailed a report of witnessing a body and blood at the couple’s residence, prompting immediate police action.
The couple was just a month away from celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary, highlighting the tragic timing of this event. Fortunately, their two young children were found unharmed in the home during the investigation.
Recently, Columbia police released video footage showing a person of interest in connection with the case, described as wearing a hooded jacket. Additionally, three 9 mm shell casings were located inside the home, further indicating the violent nature of this incident. Investigators currently estimate that the couple was killed between the early hours of 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. on December 30.
At present, McKee is being held in a facility outside of Ohio, with his next court appearance scheduled for Tuesday afternoon, as indicated by online records. However, the motive behind this tragic shooting remains unclear, leaving many questions unanswered.
